Life at Rockville United Church
RUC is a warm and welcoming place for all who enter its doors. We seek to live out our Christian faith together through:
-
Sunday worship with inspiring music from many musical traditions
-
Sunday School for children and youth
-
Study groups for adults
-
Childcare for our little ones in our Safe Church nursery
We work together to serve each other and the wider community by:
-
Caring compassionately for members who are sick or in need
-
Serving together on committees that embrace all aspects of church life
-
Advocating for members of the LGBTQ+ community
-
Joining together with other congregations to support immigrant families
-
Supporting Community Reach of Rockville
We gather outside of church in times of retreat for worship and periods of silence for art, meditation, and friendship.
-
All-Church Retreat: Our intergenerational retreat takes place at Camp Pecometh on the banks of the Chester River over a weekend every September. Everyone may do as much—or as little—as they like. We worship, build sandcastle, read, relax, canoe, play games, sing, fish, go on hayrides, fix s'mores, hike, nap—we just take time to be.
-
Women’s Retreat: Our women retreat annually in the spring to pray, to build relationships, and to learn spiritual practices. Beautiful people, good food, great leaders make this a significant part of RUC's life.
