Lenten Discussion Group
"Staying rooted in love in the midst of chaos"

Join us for our Lenten small group series where we will practice the Good News of Jesus amidst the unsteadiness of the world. For five Mondays, starting February 23 and ending March 23, we will join together in small groups. You may attend either an afternoon or evening session. All sessions will be on Zoom. No preparation is required. Just come, share, and reflect.

Drawing from the Lenten themes and scriptures, this five-week small group series follows Jesus’ ministry through stories of radical welcome, surprising joy, communal abundance, care for the vulnerable, and lives rooted in justice, mercy, and faithfulness. This series frames Lent as a season of re-grounding, a way of returning to what is most central to Jesus’ life and teachings.

Each week, the group will reflect on the scripture passages and theme from worship the day before, using poetry, scripture, and guided conversation to explore what makes the good news truly good. Jesus consistently reorients attention away from status, fear, and scarcity toward belonging, joy, shared responsibility, and love enacted in everyday life.

Ultimately, this Lenten journey asks: Can we become people who live and share good news? As participants reflect together, the hope is not only deeper understanding, but a growing capacity to recognize, receive, and participate in God’s goodness – within ourselves, our communities, and a world hungry for hope.
