Holiday Giving To Cheer & Change Lives
​During the holiday season, RUC provides opportunities to support local and international programs serving communities in need through our Giving Tree and Alternative Giving Program.
Our Giving Tree supports Montgomery County residents in financial need through two programs of Community Reach. Each ornament on the Giving Tree (located in the narthex at RUC) offers an opportunity to purchase a gift card for the residents of Community Reach Houses (by December 21st) or toys and gift cards from children ages 11-17 through Community Reach’s Holiday Program (by December 14th).
Please select an ornament off the Giving Tree, purchase the item noted on the back, then attach the ornament to the unwrapped toy or gift card. Toys may be dropped off in the box in the narthex. Gift cards may be dropped off in the basket under the tree. If you prefer you can write a check (payable to RUC, designating Giving Tree) or click here to give online.
This year our Alternative Giving Program contributions support World Central Kitchen (WCK), a nonprofit organization that is first at the frontlines to provide fresh meals when disaster strikes around the world. WCK partners with organizations on the ground to activate a network of local restaurants, food trucks, and emergency kitchens so that people can have their meals quickly and effectively. WCK purchases local ingredients to cook with or distribute directly to families in need. Since its founding, it has served more than 500 million meals throughout the world that are comforting, nutritious and culturally respectful.
Donations will be designated to support the work of WCK in Gaza. In mid-November 2025, the organization was providing more than 700,000 meals each day there. Its goal is to serve one million meals per day.

You may donate by cash or a check payable to RUC with Alternative Giving in the memo line, or give online by clicking HERE. If you wish to donate in the name of a friend, relative, or colleague, you may print out a flyer acknowledging a donation in his or her name by clicking HERE or visit the Alternative Giving table in the narthex at RUC, Sundays, November 30th through January 4th.
