Social Justice Committee

 Our goal is to educate and mobilize people into action on social justice issues.

We monitor and support legislation to prevent gun violence and made a donation to the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun  Violence Solutions.

Contact esw@rockvilleunitedchurch.org for information about periodic peaceful vigils against gun violence that do not involve civil disobedience.

Air Quality Study

We are applying to participate in a UCC Justice and Witness Ministry Study to monitor air quality in our area.

Get Out the Vote

RUC writers mailed over 1220 letters and postcards to Get Out the Vote prior to the 2022 General Election. More letters and postcards were written to encourage Georgia voters to GOTV prior to the Senate runoff election. We also made a contribution towards supplies for the Poor People’s Campaign GOTV work.
