Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord!
We are united in our love of music and our belief that praying and singing combined make for a Spirit-filled worship experience.
In addition to music sung by our congregation, we also have a talented Sanctuary Choir that offers anthems and other music to enrich and enhance understanding of the liturgy. Musical styles used in the service range from the traditional, to Jazz, to Spiritual, and Folk. Music from the Taize community is used regularly. An array of guest musicians serve with us throughout the year, for special additions to our choir and music director.
Our children and youth often participate musically in our services, as a group and as individuals. Our youngest—second grade and under, are part of an informal, fun children’s choir. We are actively developing a children's music program at varied levels to promote participation of children of every age.
For more information about music at RUC, or to inquire about joining the Sanctuary Choir or children's music program, please contact Jim Levy, our Director of Music.
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir rehearses every Wednesday night from 7:30 to 9:00 through mid-June and begins again every September. Our choir lends its voice for services with anthems, hymns, chants, and choral refrains. New members are always welcome!
The choir's repertoire is varied including music from all time periods and musical styles. Our anthems have included the following composers Tallis, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Vaughn Williams, Durufle, Copeland, Dawson, and Gjeilo.
Children's Choir
Our youngest children meet for 15 minutes after Sunday Service from September through May. We learn songs and play instruments. Parents are provided with recordings of the songs each year to make learning easier. Reading not required!

We are a congregation that loves to sing and appreciates a wide range of music in our services. We devote at least one third of our worship experience to music. Music covers the full spectrum of human emotion, often speaks more deeply than words, and gives wings to our prayers.
