James
Levy has served as Organist and Choir Director at RUC since 1991.
Along with the Sanctuary choir, Jim has presented several of his
choral compositions at the National Cathedral and the Community
Ministries of Rockville Benefit concerts. His setting of Psalm 121
was performed in 1995 by the Paul Hill Washington Singers in a concert
featuring the music of area composers. On the faculty of GWU since
1984, Jim is responsible for creating the Department of Music’s
jazz program and is the director of GW's award winning "King James
and the Serfs of Swing," which specializes in the music of Duke
Ellington and Count Basie. He lives with his two daughters in Rockville.
