A Trinity of Christmas Services - WELCOME

Dear Friends and Saints of Rockville United Church,

A Christmas Prayer for Those Who Don't Go To Church - Rev.

Lord, I don't go to church much.

I don't go at all...well, I go at Christmas.

I'm home then.

I feel drawn to it.

I like the Christmas Eve service,

the coolness of the air.

I feel like a kid again...It's surreal.

I know folks make fun of people like me.

What can I say?  I've drifted...but there is a pull back.

A Quote to Pray and Ponder this Advent

To be of the Earth is to know

the restlessness of being a seed

the darkness of being planted

the struggle toward the light

the pain of growth into the light

the joy of bursting and bearing fruit

the love of being food to someone

the scattering of your seeds

the decay of the seasons

the mystery of death and the miracle of birth.

Pastor's Epistle - November 2011

1 Peter 4:10 TEV

Now there are varities of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varities of service, but the same Lord1 Corinthians 12:4-5 RSV

RUC at Its Best

The January 16th Sunday worship service was RUC at its best.  From the inspired musical selections to the choice of one of our young people to read the scripture passages, every aspect of the service illustrated how we as a congregation live our values.  I am always proud to be a member of RUC, but I was especially proud on Sunday.   I was thrilled that visitors saw us at our best, too.  And  I was proud to see how RUC members reached out and welcomed our many church visitors last Sunday.  At RUC, making people feel welcome and accepted really is in our DN
