For more than 20 years, RUC has been raising funds and building houses for Garrett County Habitat for Humanity Chapter. Each year we send a work crew of about 40 people for a week in July to work on up to three houses. To fund the work crew, and to provide additional funds for Habitat, we host a fund-raising dinner and a yard sale each May. This allows us to donate as much as $8000 to the Garrett County organization. For several years, we have partnered with Bethesda United Church of Christ in this mission. In addition, the Morningstar Fellowship contributes to the mission by cooking and serving the dinner each May.
