A Message from Our Minister

I came to Rockville United Church because it is a church wanting to expand its mission. RUC is already a vital force in the Community Ministries of Rockville, Habitat for Humanity and local initiatives for peace and justice and gender equality.

I came to this church because it thrives on all kinds of music, including jazz.

I came because its many highly educated members want to attend to spirited preaching and thoughtful Biblical interpretation. I like to try to do that.

And I came because this church values its children, its elders, its traditions, and its changing future all in the context of a cosmopolitan and multicultural area.

I also have come to this new and strong community because I believe that my own faith and love of life that has lead me to do many things (a private school teacher of philosophy and religion, a medical school instructor of family medicine, a psychotherapist and marriage and family counselor, a poet and a writer) would find a creative home
